ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2006-7 PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CHAPIN CEMETERY

ORDINANCE NO. 07-05
ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2006-7 PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CHAPIN CEMETERY
Be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Chapin, Morgan County, Illinois, as follows;
SECTION 1: Ordinance 2006-7 is hereby amended by deleting Section C of Section 2 and substituting in its place a new Section C of Section 2 as follows:
SECTION C. Burials. All non-cremated bodies shall be buried in a
casket, which shall be encased in either a concrete container or a metal
vault. All cremated bodies shall be buried in a metal or ceramic urn or
box specifically designed and constructed for said purpose. Graves for all
non-cremated burials must be dug by an employee or a representative of the Village of Chapin. A grave of a cremated individual may be dug by a
member of the deceased’s family under the supervision of a Village employee or representative. There shall not be less then eighteen (18) inches of earth at the shallowest point over the receptacle in which the cremated remains are placed.
SECTION 2: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances of the Village of Chapin,
Morgan County, Illinois, conflicting with this Ordinance, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
