H1N1 Flu, Swine Flu

With any type of flu, the H1N1 flu strain is easy to keep from transmitting by following three simple steps. First wash your hands often, second cover your mouth when you cough, and third, if you are sick, stay home and have limited contact with other people.
If you think that you may be infected with the H1N1 flu, call 911 if you are having any difficulties breathing, or call ahead to the emergency department to allow them to take isolation precautions. For more information on the H1N1, swine flu, visit the Illinois Department of Public Health web site or visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention web site.
